Fall Inspiration 04

Oak black hood slouch jumpsuit
Bing Bang by Anna Sheffield gunmetal vivienne tiny studs

Oak taupe broom skirt
La Mer black silver multi-chain watch
Alexander Wang black tasha bandage heel

Oak NYC is one of the best high end stores here if your looking for closet staples. For example, their zip-up jumpsuit, I feel this is THE best lounge piece you will ever find. Just put on your underwear, this jumpsuit and maybe these shoes, and you'll be ready to step out for a day at the library, a walk to the deli, meet-up with some friends or whatever casual date. I also love how Oak matched up a maxi skirt and long johns. Great inspiration eh? Also, thinking about getting those Anna Sheffield studs as an early Christmas present for myself. I'm not exactly dangling-earring girl, but I seem to have an endless supply of dangling earrings. Studs, I feel, are right up my alley of practicality. Plus, the price tag is pretty reasonable.

light and heavy

Dolce & Gabbana F/W 2010 is so great. Don't you adore the delicate-seeming and ladylike clothing juxtaposed with the sturdy shapes of the bags? Black is obviously the foundation of the whole collection, but there are light, fun colors thrown in to brighten everyone's overcast winter day. However, I don't understand how super sheer or super lacey dresses keep you insulated for those cold days. Then again, I am reviewing this from a New Yorker's stand point. I guess all the Floridians and Californians and Texans, etc. will be able to enjoy lighter pieces.

cult classic

Ashburn Eng x Max.Tan Fall 2010: Young and Restless
A collection inspired by the catholic nuns. Young and Restless is a very loud, yet conservative collection with the right amount of minimalism. The loose and tight feature dresses and perfect black pants are best worn when braving windy fall days.

Reed Krakoff Fall 2010 Collection
I wish I had every piece from this collection in my wardrobe ASAP. From the front slit maxi skirts to the wide leg trouser pants to the shearling jackets and long, heavy coats, this minimal collection is perfection. If this collection was all you had in your closet and you were getting dressed blindly, you would probably still leave the house looking fine. It's foolproof!
Plus, this collection features many of my favorite colors--the whole khaki-military-muddy shabang.

NO slump a'coming

Kenzo is one of my favorite collections of the season. I love the bohemian and almost muumuu dresses. The prints and colors are just the right pops of color you need to brighten your cold fall or winter day. Pair one of these slighty ill-fitted dresses or slumpy pieces with a very chunky sweater or long parka with a large satchel and you'll be ready for a cold weekend.

at the end of the tunnel

During my trip to beach on last Thursday, I collected a mother load of beautiful seashells and a few rocks that resembled molten lava rocks. (Who knows? Maybe they were.) I also got very very tan. I'm not against tanning. I always like a little color, but this was just too much. My dark complexion bothers me greatly. It's making me extremely self conscious, so much that I've realized that I won't really leave my room unless it's to use the bathroom or to grab something to eat from the fridge. Yes, I fully comprehend that my actions are a bit excessive. I will definitely discuss this in my next therapy session. As a part of my self improvement process, I decided not to sulk and researched how tanned skin fades and how to fade it. Here's a taste of what I've come across:
+Pulp five to seven strawberries with a fork and spread it onto your skin for ten to fifteen minutes. This lightens and brightens the skin. I don't see what difference there is between lightening and brightening, but okay. I wonder if you can eat the mushy strawberries afterwards.
+The acids in tomatos are great for fading a tan or just lightening your natural complexion. It is also great for blackheads and oily skin. Rub tomato pulp into your skin for twenty to twenty five minutes.
+This one seems fun. You can make a daily mask by drying orange peels in the sun. Then somehow make it all powdery and store it in a container. When you actually want to use the mask, mix some of the orange peel powder with milk and rub it into your skin for twenty to twenty five minutes. The vitamin c in the oranges is known for its skin brightening properties apparently.
+Another way is to mix up some salt and lemon juice. Then with your loofah or towel, take your pick, dip it into the mixture and rub it into your skin. Make sure you apply lotion to prevent chafing and dryness after you rinse off.

cleanest of spaces

I am currently obsessing over this. I always have an urge to do something to my room every 2 to 3 months. My mom says it's not good to move things around so often, because when you do, the chi moves as well. I really can't help myself. Seeing the same things in the same place makes me sick and tired. It's like doing the same routine every single DAY.

Look at this crazy wall art. I suppose that it's like wall paper and you just buy it, and stick on your wall.

Banana Bowl. I wonder if there is an unspoken rule that states you can only use this bowl for bananas.

The pillows on this site are really worth obsessing over. These animal ones range from 24 to 36 dollars.
material: organic cotton // designer: Ross Menuez
These more mature pillows are also designed by the same person, but the price ($48) runs a tad steeper because of the down fill.

getting back

I haven't had a lot of computer time. I've been indulging in my recent acquisition of seven seasons of Monk. (I'm missing the final season, but I'll get around to buying it.) Currently, I'm watching season four. Anyway, I made my way to Rockaway Beach yesterday. The bordering Hurricane Earl didn't stop me. It was a final day of fun before school resumes. The biggest downside to yesterday's trip was becoming one to two shades darker. I am extremely frustrated by this. It's not alright, but it will be. Winter's a'coming and I'll return to my very normal skin color soon. I am using "soon" very loosely. I don't have too much confidence in what I'm saying. Okay okay, I digress... A LOT.
Anyway, I've gotten in some computer time today. So many e-mails to read through. I almost... well nothing. I just took my time and read through them. I also deleted my old twitter and made a new one. I had the old account for over a year now and I had 5,000 plus tweets. That overwhelming number was too overwhelming, so I made a new one.
I think I digress again. I guess I just have a lot to think about, so how about some eye candy?

Isn't this so beautiful? The color is stunning. The embossed designs are just so appropriate, though I can't say the same about the height. However, if I could afford and wear this, this would be such a worthy item.
