Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960-1988) was an American artist. His career in art began as a graffiti artist in New York City in the late 1970s, and in the 1980s produced Neo-expressionist painting. Basquiat died of a heroin overdose in August 12, 1988, at the age of 27.
What a sad ending... If he were still alive he would be about the same age as my mom. I love his work. Oh people, what terrible habits consume them.

i love his work so much! my mom works in an office where her boss is an art love and collector, so there is actually a Basquiat painting in the office! she doesn't appreciate it at all, but i sure do.
