Don't you love this purse latch? I came across it when I was doing my art history homework. It's from a viking ship burial in England. Note the interlace pattern and very stylistic figures. Isn't it a beauty?!
I also love this animal head post. It's remnant of another viking vessel burial. The burial mound of the ship was 70 feet long and the wooden carvings on the ship was very elaborate, meaning the guy this was for was probably very powerful or very wealthy or both. I love how much life there is in this post. You could almost see this beast coming at you with flared nostrils and wild eyes, though that probably wouldn't be a situation you or I would want to be in.
